My goal here though is to help people who wish to start a successful online business, so I need something more simple yet powerful enough to serve the purpose. This one apparently is not the choice. Can newbies comprehend how to utilize keywords on their websites through a tool like this? I doubt it. For one, I recommend not to go for the tool that requires a download like this one. For two, don’t use a tool that overloads you with data and confuses you. The truth is that, when you perform a keyword search, there are only three aspects that you need to pay attention.
- How much traffic does the keyword get?
- How much competition does the keyword have?
- Does the keyword grammatically make sense?
With these three key elements in place, keyword research could be way more simplified and, in fact, more fun. 🙂
What Is Jaaxy Keyword Tool?
Let me introduce you to the one I use. It’s called Jaaxy. As I have so much fun using it, I sometimes do a keyword research on my iPhone while waiting for my coffee at Starbucks. How to Find Keyword Traffic and Competition
Ok, let me show you how Jaaxy works. Here you will see what I meant earlier by “you get it all after one click.” Let’s say your website is all about beauty tips and today you are going to create a blog post about reducing wrinkles. You type in the search bar the phrase “reducing wrinkles” and click “Find Keywords.”
This is the results that Jaaxy gives you.
Just one click and there you have a list of 30 results of related keywords! Do you see any good ones? How do you tell which is good and which is not? If this is the first time you see a keyword research tool, it may look a bit overwhelming but don’t worry. I will walk you through how to make sense of it. It’s actually quite simple.
First of all, see the three colors displayed under the category “KQI“? It stands for Keyword Quality Index (you don’t really have to know the term) and the colors are just like the traffic lights: Green (good to go), yellow (caution) and red (don’t go). Visually you can spot good keywords and not-so-good keywords at once. At all cost avoid the red ones. We are going for the green ones and now let’s take a look at the numeric data.
We are going to focus on these two columns: Avg (Average Monthly Traffic) and QSR (Quoted Search Results).
Remember that I mentioned you actually pay attention to only three aspects in keyword research? Those two columns correspond to the two out of the three elements.
- How much traffic does the keyword get? = Avg
- How much competition does the keyword have? = QSR
- Does the keyword grammatically make sense? = You know this if you speak English
These metrics are the most important data within Jaaxy results. I will explain why. Take a look at the example above “reducing wrinkles.”

This keyword has a decent search volume as 128 people in average are searching under the keyword “reducing wrinkles” per month. But there are over 300 pages (competitors) online that included the exact same keywords within their content. It means the competition will be too fierce for you to get ranked higher, so this is not a good keyword to pick.

This is the type of keywords that you should aim at particularly when you are just starting out with a website. We call those “easier-to-get-ranked” keywords “Low Hanging Fruit” keywords and they have decent traffic and small competition.
Low Hanging Fruit Keywords:
Avg (Traffic) = more than 100
QSR (Competition) = less than 300 (I usually seek less than 200)
While your website is still newer, focus on “Low Hanging Fruit” keywords when you create content. Between the two keywords above, I will definitely go with “how to reduce wrinkles around eyes” and write a blog post for this topic. (I will use it as the title of the post) It shouldn’t take long for the blog appears on the first page of search results when someone Google search by typing in “how to reduce wrinkles around eyes.” You would want as many pages you created as possible to get ranked on the first page of Google search so people would take notice of your website. To achieve this, you need a keyword research tool like Jaaxy. Average traffic and competition are what you definitely want to check out for each keyword on every search, and Jaaxy presents them in a very comprehensive manner with color codes.

Store “Good Ones” in Your Own Lists
Jaaxy lets you save the keywords you like in a list. If I want to gather all the good ones and store them in one place, I can do so by checking the boxes next to them and click “Save to List.” I would name the list “Wrinkles” for example.
The ones I selected will go saved under the list and I can view them all at once. Look, their QSR are all under 100, which means less than 100 competitors out there. Exciting! I am NOT going to use all of them in one blog though, of course not. But I can compare these candidates in one place and see which one I want for the title or use withing the content. Looking at a promising keyword list like this gives us a good idea as to how we want to construct the actual content.
You can build the list longer as you add more keywords to it. You can create as many lists as you wish for the future content creation (I currently have 20 lists saved, which means I have 20 more articles to create). This is a very useful feature for a later reference. Once you added a keyword to a list, the “L” appears to indicate that it was safely stored. I highly recommend using this “Save to List” function to maximize your keyword research at Jaaxy.
How to Find Related Keywords
If the keyword you initially had in mind appears to be not promising, what should you do? You can pick another one that is a Low Hanging Fruit keyword from the results, but what if you don’t like that one nor have enough knowledge to write about it?
One thing you can do is to click on any keywords listed. Jaaxy will perform another keyword research based on the one you just clicked. You can repeat this process over and over again until you find one works best for your new content.
Another thing you can do is to take a look at the right-hand side of the page, under “Related.”
These are the real keyword phrases that people typed in the Google search bar, which is related to your current topic “reducing wrinkles.”
We all have our own way of phrasing things, right? Sometimes it is hard to realize that other people may word the same thing differently. For instance, I would naturally think of “reducing wrinkles” but would never come up with such a phrase as “reducing fine lines.” It could actually be a very good Low Hanging Fruit keyword. You never know. If I am curious, I can simply click on it to see the Avg and QSR data.
In this manner, the “Related” section in Jaaxy truly opens your eyes to other’s way of viewing things and lead you to more options. It is a great place to brainstorm for your keywords. Just be sure to stick to the ones that grammatically make sense as we discussed earlier. Among the examples above, I wouldn’t recommend you to select “ways reduce wrinkles” or “natural ways reduce wrinkles” for the title nor use it within your new blog post.
